If I believed in God, I would say he’s in this place.
Jervaulx Abbey is a ruined 12th century monastery and its claim to fame is that it was the place where Wensleydale cheese was first made. We’ve been before and loved it, and today was such a beautiful early Spring day that we decided to drive up there again. Unfortunately I can’t fully capture the tranquil, beautiful atmosphere of this place in photos, but maybe I can give a taste.
I think it’s one of my very favorite of all the places I’ve visited in my life.
Afterwards, we headed for the beautiful small market town of Masham where a delicious roast dinner awaited us in the King’s Head.
All in all, a lovely end to a quite difficult week.
