The Lake District National Park was just voted the best of all Britain’s national parks and, if you’ve ever been, you’ll know why.
Most days, I visit a site called Lakelandcam, run by a retired postman who lives in the Lake District. He goes out for a walk each day with his dog and takes pictures of the things he sees. His site changes every day and there is no archive of photos, but in a way that makes the daily visit more special. Here are a few of his recent photos and here’s the link to visit when you need an eyeful of loveliness.
Interestingly, the top three national parks (Lake District, Peak District and Northumberland) were all in the north. I’m sure that will surprise those southerners who hear about it. (“You mean up where they wear the cloth caps and breed ferrets?”)
