What the British Really Mean

This “Anglo Translator” found on She’s Not From Yorkshire is brilliant, although I think it works better if you read the yellow column (‘What the British Mean’) last.

My favorite is “oh incidentally…” really meaning “the primary purpose of our discussion is …’ This is so true! Any time an English person closes a meeting with you by saying “Oh and by the way…” you can be pretty sure what they’re about to say next is the entire reason you’ve just spent the last 15 minutes in their office. Word to the wise 🙂
